Was quite a fulfilling day actually. Got to kick balls with maroon after so long. We had not played for months but we acquinted ourselves well against the muds. Some couldnt make it so we drafted in ka hong, alongside me bob alex and alvin. Waited for bob and ka hong to come, so we sat down at the coffeeshop to talk cock. Turns out in a bid to get bob down faster, they tricked him into coming by taxi claiming they would pay for the fare. Bob wasnt too happy bout it hehe. Ka hong was.. not used to it at first so we had to cover more defensively. We won a few matches before getting beaten and then won a few again. We stopped playing while leading, cos almost got into a fight. This big malay bastard really has a problem with us or our race i think. It was drizzling and the ground was wet. Sliding tackles came in thick and fast, mostly acceptable ones which me and alex were able to evade constantly. Then that bastard came in two footed, totally upending alex and failing to get the ball, then like want to fight. He did it to alex once more. I suggested we make a triple team sliding effort to cripple that black rhino. But before i knew it a piece of shit came sliding between my legs too! Thats after i passed the ball lor. Resorting to physical means to try to salvage some pride for the earlier mud teams beaten by us i guess. Or was it revenge for a fellow mud who lost out to a 50-50 ball with me and went tumbling down injured. Alex was pissed, i was thinking of revenge, the rest didnt want trouble so we left. But this is what to expect from when u play at bishan street soccer court la. Super physical. The amk court is more on skill i guess. After the A's gotta hone a more collective spirit within the squad.
Went back to chs to look look. Within a year, I could hardly recognise most parts of the school. There are now 2 canteens and 2 halls, rock climbing wall, ponds, and many other decorative stuff. They put rocks everywhere, then got some trishaws around, dunno what image hak boon is trying to create. Then walking up the road can see chinese characters. The open students lounge is cool. I mean There is this jukebox machine where u can play any song available for 20 cents and it was hitting out linkin park tunes. Plus a pool room, room with tv hi five set bar counter and sofas. Then there is another area where students can use their lap tops wirelessly? And had sofas and a drinks counter. There is an aquarium too. Two gyms at least. Looks kinda happening... on the surface at least. Where the hell did hak get all the money from? But chs isnt the best place to be now. Its hard to even spot any student tucking out their shirts. All had their pants pretty high up too. The consequences of tucking out could mean detention or embarassment in front of whole school. There was this zero late coming day banner. One of hak boon's first policies implemented when he arrived was the late coming policy. Students late would be asked to do silly things like sleeping outside the general office if i am not wrong? detention and subsequently caning? not to mention crazy lectures by hak and toh? There is in fact dictatorship and intense muggerhood going on. Hak wants the best results, not for the school but for himself. Students are made to come back almost everyday during the hols for extra lessons. Just ask the J1 ch peeps. There is this elite group of students who excel in sports chosen and their average day lasts til evening i think, pushing them to their limits while having to balance school work. Fortunantly we only had to tolerate hak for one year before graduating. But damn the school looks pretty good now.
Was talking to ka hong for hours at bk over dinner. Catching up on each other's jc lives as well as that of the other peeps in other colleges. Life in sa seems pretty good huh. I would love an environment like that. Too bad though.
