For a moment it seemed like ns was the monster pulling me away from my sacred belonging, my domain. It was like facing the end of the first chapter of my life. Leaving the comfort zone to face the beasts, the demons of the world. Once i leave, will i return as foothegreat or foo the tanned? Will i lose touch with the ppl i have met over the 18 years of my life as i go into isolation in the jungles? Will i be missed? What the **** have i been doin this past 18 years? I guess its too much to stomach. One moment u leap over the giant hurdle of the A levels, the next u get thrown right into the abyss of a new life. The interval: About 2 weeks. No celebrations, just enough time to say a goodbye to everyone. No time to leave a last mark in yr social life. My hopes, wishes, cravings came tumbling down from the sky straight into the trenches we will have to soon dig. Things like chalets, holidays, soccer, job, learnin new stuff, roaming, roofing, eating shit, fighting, wrestling, being an ass will soon be things of the past. Its like a dam being contructed on 8 december to stop the flow of youth, euphoria. From boyz to men. I guess the biggest anxiety plaguing us is the fear of change. Yup no more room to play, alas it is time to mature, though i wonder if i ever will. Well, me, jeff, james and fred shall be the first ones in 04s1a to bid farewell. The timing of departure couldnt have been worse, when certain groups in the class have shown signs of solidifying. I have met some pretty good ppl.
